I have it made- I made it out the hood early so I can't complain
I'm happy for the depression and pain even though it seems strange
Moved coke- flipped dope- yea I made money around it
But I'm still lookin' for that one thing that'll keep my grounded

Surely things can only get better from my start to finish
But it seems like I'm only missing one thing to keep my thoughts replinished
I believe I've had it- even though I found and lost it
So I'm again looking for that one thing that'll keep me grounded

Not grounded in a sense of a parent punishing it's child
But something to keep me level headed through my ups and downs
Something I can give my all to as an investment in return
That one thing that I can be proud of with every lesson that I've learned

That I can feel safe with- even when I make a losing choice
Stands poised through all the bullshit and moves swiftly around it
So I guess I'm looking for that someone to keep my grounded
